Tullibody Amateurs

Manager :- Fraser Duncan.
Hello all,

So much has happened the since the last time i done a managers column and i am only now getting used to using the computer thanks to Davy Reynolds. Well the club has suffered its first defeat which had to come at some point, I am just disappointed in the manner we done it, it was against Carse Thistle in the league and am sure the boys will all agree we never showed up for the game and were deservedly beat however no disrespect to them I am looking forward to the return fixture as I feel we can do a lot better and felt that they were at there best. Our best result of the season so far I think anyway came against Tynecastle star who were very organised and good footballing side but credit to the lads they stuck to there task and showed that we wont be put off by playing against big teams, as a result we are now through to the last 16 of the east of Scotland cup and an exciting tie against Loanhaed is waiting on us. Also we beat Shotts Victoria in the Scottish cup 4th round 8-3 which was another great result for us and puts us up against the highly fancied Cupar Hearts ha highly fancied in fife maybe but our boys are raring to go the only thing holding us back is the weather, that’s three weeks on the trot now the games been off because of bad weather. Myself and the committee are looking at the possibility of taking the game to the Cowsie or the Muirside park as its a very nice park for this time of year and the drainage is also very good. After Christmas we played a league game against Milton at Tulligarth once again because of the weather and we won 3-0 with Mark Reid getting two goals with his head strange I know but he did finish them very well, however wee Hatchett said it was all in the crosses ha. Kenny got the 3rd goal, which was a shock as our front two linked up for a change to create it ha.

Scottish Cup...............This tie was eventually played at the civic centre on a reasonably good day however the parks are in terrible condition and we started the tie the stronger playing some good stuff but our final ball sometimes lacked, mostly due to the bumpy condition of the park which was only getting worse. The final 20 mins of the game saw the visitors take the game to us really and the had a few chances but overall we should of had this wrapped up in the first half, so replay it was.

Replay.............not much to say about this game, we never done ourselves any justice at all and in fairness we were disappointing but credit to our opponents they played the game the right way and good luck to them in the next round. The big thing for our lads is getting over this defeat as if our performance had of been better like we can do we could of been sitting in the next round but we will learn from this and give it another go next year. Great achievement 5th round in our first year back... well done

SAT 23RD FEBRUARY...

Well a good result and progression to the last 8 and quarter finals of the east of Scotland cup, not the best performance on a very windy day but good to get through days like that and get into the last 8 superb. Next round sees us play Uphall Station so a good tie and we know we can lift our game a lot more as we never really got out of first gear at Loanhead so important we raise our game and push on.

New signing..

Great to see Lee Dixon {dixie} finally sign for the amateurs. Myself, Scott and Stuart have been chasing him since last season and he has finally agreed to come to Tullibody from Plean. A great addition to our side and gives us some well needed dig in midfield however lee is cup tied in the east like Darren Hughes so we will need to wait till we play league games to see him in action.

Injuries and suspensions.....
Ryan McKeown injured possible hernia could be end of season before Ryan is back playing or even training.

Scott Harris injured torn cartilage Scott is facing a long spell in rehab with our physio at garrets gym before he will be back.

Danny Kaszta injured sore foot should be back in next couple of weeks ..

Adam Bonar injured groin strain hopefully be fit enough to play some part in the Uphall game fingers crossed

John France injured john has had his scan so we are waiting on the results so hopefully that could be good news for the club and for john. Fingers crossed again.

Davy Reynolds injured Davy will have to rest for a few weeks to try and eliminate his knee problem old age catches us all eh Davy.

Big thank you folks for all your support over the last few games it is much appreciated from all the lads and myself and we will try our very best to reward you all with promotion and maybe some silverware to back that up.

Thanks

Fraser Duncan
